SEMINO - 10mm Centaur

The CENTAUR – a mechanical innovation by Semino Industries – is a very potent handgun chambered in 10mm Centaur (aka 40 Super). Due to its powerful caliber, it gained an infamous name for its wrist-twisting capabilities.
The pistol will most definitely never be put into production and remain locked to these renders. Its cartridge however remains reality! The 10mm Centaur was developed in 1996 and is essentially a necked down version of the famous .45 Winchester Magnum. Originally merely a wildcat cartridge, the 40 Super saw some production by Triton Cartridge. Unfortunately, the pistol cartridge never gained much traction and is a scarce commodity nowadays.

I created this design based on a bunch of different pistols. Major influences were the Ruger MKIV, the legendary Walther P7 and the Nambu 14. It was quite a challenge to fit all these design features into one concept – but I'm happy with the result!
Although I have to admit, the greatest joy was creating all the various props for the presentation. Before I got into game-ready asset creation, my main focus in 3D was rendering and scene dressing – so this project was simply a blast to work on and a return to my roots in a way. :)

Made some Attachments that would suit the SEMINO Centaur well - in this case the wonderfully round Trijicon SRO™. The sight dot was made using a parallax shader setup inside Blender, so it functions just as it should! :)

I see, you are still scrolling – awesome! Have some reflective caustics on the 10mm CENTAUR as a bonus. :)
